Thanks to the pandemic, people have been spending more and more time indoors. While work-from-home opportunities have certainly allowed most people to keep their livelihoods, it does not stop us from feeling trapped and imprisoned in our own homes. By having the outdoors taken away from us, we are left with a limited number of things to count on as recreational activities.

However, games have always been there for us. It is through games that we can relax. And there are a lot of games to be excited about in 2022. In this article, Michelle Thomas takes you through the world of gaming that will open up for you in 2021 and beyond, bringing you joy beyond the screen. Get more from him here.

Online Casinos

Just because you can’t go to one doesn’t mean you can’t be at a Canadian casino online! The future of the online casino in Canada is strong, and there are a lot of games for you to take advantage of. Slots and blackjack can be fun, but the joys of applying strategy to online poker are on a world all on its own. With the inclusion and addition of live tables, the games casino is set to become the biggest and best source of entertainment for you during pandemic times.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The last new Pokemon game to come out was Sword and Shield, back in 2019. Since then, we have had a remaster of Diamond and Pearl, but nothing truly new. This one promises a pokemon experience like no other. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is the first-ever open-world pokemon game, and it is something fans have waited for for a very long time. This takes the franchise’s future in a completely new direction, and we are all excited to see where we end up.

Far Cry 6

The return of the Far Cry franchise is bound to bring style back into gaming. Over the years, Far Cry has given players a unique experience – survival against the odds in a unique environment. This one is no different. This time, you go to Yara, a country in the Caribbean, and play as Dani Rojas, a freedom fighter trying to take back what is rightfully yours from the corrupt El Presidente, Anton Castillo. It promises to be a spectacular experience, as is expected of this franchise now, and one you don’t want to miss.

Back 4 Blood

Who doesn’t love killing zombies? Well, if you are a fan of Left 4 Dead, then you will definitely want to keep your eyes peeled for this one. Though it doesn’t have any involvement from Valve, Back 4 Blood can, and should, be considered a spiritual successor to the much-beloved titles of yesteryear. This game will bring you the same four-player co-op that people love while adding a whole new feeling to things. Prepare for the same frantic running about as you immerse yourself in a zombie-infested world once again!

Battlefield 2042

Kickstart your hearts, for Battlefield is back again! Instead of focusing on history or the far future, battlefield 2042 takes us a mere two decades into the future to paint a picture the likes of which we have never seen before. The game will allow you to wage war in real-time with 128 player matches which will be set in every part of the world. What makes this even more interesting are the weather conditions that will help or hinder your conquest. As we have seen from the trailer, you can expect storms of all manner – and they bring nasty consequences. Prepare yourself for an actual battle!

Age of Empires 4

The last time an Age of Empires game came out was 2005. Sixteen years later, Relic Entertainment brings us news of the newest game in the series. AoE 4 will be a modernized look at the beloved franchise. From what we know so far, the game will start with eight civilizations with room to expand as well. There are also four campaigns planned, but while the previous games kept their campaigns fixed on historical figures or a particular conflict, AoE 4 promises to take a step further.

They are going to focus on the entirety of the story being told. For example, the Norman campaign will start with William the Conqueror but will also include the signing of the Magna Carta and the feuds between his children and grandchildren.

Conclusion

It means we never really know what tomorrow will bring. However, as far as the future of games goes, we know exactly what’s coming and are very excited about it all. You might have forgotten how fun these titles were, but they’re back, and you had best be reminded. Whatever you play, just make sure you have fun!
