Chamber holds Leadership Clinton 2021 fall luncheon

Special to The Clinton Courier

Clinton LeadershipEvery two years, the Clinton Chamber of Commerce offers the opportunity to delve into the history and commerce that surrounds and makes Clinton the city what it is today. This opportunity is called Leadership Clinton, a nine-month deep dive into all things Clinton. Organized by Chamber Leadership Committee members George Broadstreet, Jonathan Ford, and TJ McSparrin, 2021 program participants studied what has helped the Clinton community thrive from historic, governmental, industrial and educational sectors.

In addition to learning about historical and present-day Clinton, participants make their own mark on the city by establishing class projects that are geared toward improving Clinton. Many Leadership Clinton class projects are highly visible, such as community gathering spots to relax or commemorative markers.

For the program’s fall quarterly luncheon, the focus was on leadership, led by Mississippi College Associate Vice President for the Student Experience and Dean of Students Dr.

Jonathan Ambrose. Dr. Ambrose developed the Lee and Rhoda Royce Servant Leadership Minor at Mississippi College, and he kicked off the Leadership Clinton year with an in-depth leadership retreat that discussed how the class can uncover and highlight its collective talents and skills.

Leadership Clinton presents the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills and promote Clinton’s rich history and vibrant future. Alumni are threaded throughout the fabric of the town, from aldermen to pastors to parents at the park who are engaged in leading and loving Clinton place and its citizens. Leadership Clinton is a class, a commitment, and an opportunity – as well as a dynamic conduit to study the community.
