To commemorate eighteen years of sisterhood, scholarship and service to the community, the Clinton Alumnae Chapter (CMAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. celebrated its March 29 chartering day by conducting service projects in the community as part of its annual Seven Serving Seven Community Impact Day. Community Impact Day is designed to showcase the continuous outreach and engagement efforts of the Clinton chapter across all seven service areas with collaborative and interrelated service projects tailored to the needs of the communities in which it serves. As part of its mission of service, CMAC provides an array of community service initiatives through its Five Point Programmatic Thrust of economic development, educational development, international awareness, physical and mental health, and political awareness and involvement in its seven service areas of Clinton, Bolton, Byram, Edwards, Raymond, Terry and Utica.

Partnering with Soles4Souls, the Beta Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Sigma Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the Law Office of Gerald Mumford, PLLC., the Clinton Chapter was able to facilitate virtual and in-person events for the community in the form of engaging webinars that educated the community of the rights of students who receive additional education services, provided the community with an overview of the basic documents needed for estate planning, as well as distributing over six hundred COVID-19 home test kits, collecting 353 pairs of donated new and gently-worn shoes, making and distributing blankets for a men’s assisted–living home, and distributing 171 bags of food and over fifty cases of water to those in need.
