Special to The Clinton Courier

Crooked Creek String Band
Crooked Creek String Band, a four-piece band that plays Bluegrass, Americana and a variety of other musical genres on traditional acoustic instruments, will perform on Friday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Clinton Visitor Center. The band has been together for thirteen years.
The multi-instrumentalists will perform songs that feature a Mississippi connection, as well as several original tunes. Among the tunes to be performed are “Evil Wind” (Jerry Brooks, original); “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright” (Bob Dylan); “I’ve Traveled Down This Lonesome Road Before” (Kenny and Amanda Smith Band); and “The Train Carrying Jimmie Rodgers Home” (Greg Brown/Nashville Bluegrass Band). The band members are Jerry Brooks on banjo, mandolin, guitar and vocals; Bryan Hayes on guitar and vocals; Wes Tabor on dobro, harmonica and vocals; and Jeff Perkins on bass and vocals.
Friday Nights at Milepost 89 is the third Friday of the month at the Clinton Visitor Center. This is the tenth year to bring acoustic music in a unique setting for the local community. Admission to each performance is at least eighty-nine cents, and collections go to the musicians.
