It’s a busy time for the Clinton Chamber of Commerce – the holidays – and also the moving days.

The Chamber is selling its building at 100 East Leake Street and relocating to a temporary home on Highway 80 west of Clinton-Raymond Road. And all of this is happening as final plans are being made for some upcoming major events, including the Clinton Chamber Christmas Parade.

Chamber Executive Director Anna Nutt says they were approached by a buyer who wanted the building for a business.

“That building has belonged to the Chamber since the ‘90s,” she says. “We’re excited for the opportunity to have something in our building that’s not just an office and is something that’s tax [and] income producing.”

The location at the corner of East Leake and Monroe streets made it attractive to the buyer while in keeping with the Chamber’s goal to enhance the city’s historic district.

“With the growth of Olde Towne and [the proximity to] Hillman Commons and Lion’s Club Park, we just felt like our building was a connecting piece to connect those two parts of Olde Towne.”

Nutt says the Chamber plans to be in the Highway 80 location for one to two years, with the hope of returning to the heart of the city when a major economic development project is completed near Mississippi College.

“We’re in talks to potentially be the welcome center at Rising Spring when that comes to fruition.”

The change of address won’t keep the Chamber from taking care of business. It hosted the 2025 Public Service Appreciation Luncheon October 28; and, with November here, a series of seasonal events kicks off with the Holiday Happening, a retail open house, on November 9, followed by Small Business Saturday on November 29.

After that, the Chamber’s Facebook page will feature the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways. And then the highlights of the holiday season come on December 6– the Yule Run, presented by Continental Tires at 7 a.m., and the Christmas parade, presented by Performance Therapy at 10 a.m.

Even as it says goodbye to its old building, Nutt says the Chamber won’t miss a beat. “We’re going to keep rolling.”
