2025 MC Homecoming festivities scheduled for October 24 and 25

Special to The Clinton Courier

2025 MC Homecoming festivities scheduled for October 24 and 25
When Mississippi College alumni, students, faculty and staff gather on the Clinton campus Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 24-26, to celebrate the University’s 2025 Homecoming, they will be acknowledging the institution’s rich history while anticipating its bright future through the 2025 Homecoming theme: “Forever MC.”

Jake Donald, MC director of alumni and family engagement, said the Homecoming theme underscores the impact the University has made on Christian higher education throughout the Southeast.

“Homecoming is one of our signature events at Mississippi College,” Donald said. “It’s a chance for alumni, students, families and friends to gather on campus, celebrate our shared traditions, and create new memories together. We look forward to welcoming our Choctaws back home and honoring the spirit that makes MC such a special place.”

Alumni of classes ending in “0” and “5” will celebrate reunions; MC’s varsity soccer, baseball, softball and men’s basketball teams will host exhibition games; and several new events will be introduced to the Homecoming slate. Among them are a Junior Choctaw Cheer and Dance Clinic, an MC Archives Open House in the Leland Speed Library, special on-stage performances in the Quad, and a celebration of the MC Homecoming Court during the traditional tailgate.

Lori Bobo, MC director of university events, said these activities will be infused into annual Homecoming activities like Follies, the “Hap” Hudson 5k, the National Alumni Association Awards Brunch and the Homecoming parade.

“All of these time-honored traditions have remained a part of Homecoming for more than a decade – some for many decades,” she said. “Students and alumni are excited about these events and look for them on the Homecoming schedule.”

Additional activities are also slated for Homecoming weekend, including a multitude of soccer, basketball, softball and baseball games, as well as reunions, receptions and open houses.
