Health headlines rarely agree. One week a study says coffee protects the heart, the next week another warns it does the opposite. The confusion is not a sign that science is broken. A meta-analysis then pools their results into a single estimate with honest error bars. Together they are the strongest answer science can currently give on a question.

The process is exacting.
