Children are what every parent looks forward to. They bring joy, laughter and they are the light of our eyes. But with children come responsibility. One of the most time-consuming tasks is finding activities that will keep them entertained at home when we have no idea what to do with them or have run out of ideas for things to do together. With this article, we hope to provide some helpful tips on how you can keep your toddler entertained at home in a productive manner so they don’t get bored.

Create a Game Box

An important tip to go by is to keep a box full of board games and other activities for your toddler. Toddler Review can guide you if you want to set up a playpen. This way you will always have something at hand when they get bored and the task of choosing an activity becomes such a time-consuming chore where you spend more time looking through complicated manuals than actually playing with them.

The box you choose should be in good condition and the activities within it should be in proper shape so that when your child gets bored, they can do something productive rather than bother you every ten minutes to play with them. You could also get your toddler to helping you out in preparing the game box so they get excited about playing with it too.

Have a Time Limit For Some Activities

Whenever you’re getting your toddler to play with a certain toy, just keep in mind that there’s a time limit for everything. For example, if you have the Etch A Sketch out and they’ve been using it for twenty minutes straight without showing any signs of stopping, let them know that after ten more minutes they will be required to come off the Etch A Sketch and continue with another activity. You can do this for anything that requires a time limit, like reading books for an hour or playing games on your smartphone for half an hour.

Allow Them To Assist You

One of the best ways to keep your toddler entertained at home is by allowing them to assist you in your daily household chores. Whether it’s setting the table, making their own sandwiches for lunch, or putting the clothes in the washing machine before switching it on, let them have a little bit of responsibility whenever they ask for something that would put that sparkle in their eyes.

Treasure Hunt

This tip is especially for toddlers that are just learning how to read. This way you will both be entertained when they find the hidden objects within the house or when they track your steps in looking for the treasure! Hide stickers, small toys, small pieces of candy, and anything that would make them excited when they find it.

If you’re often too busy to accompany your child in an activity, make sure they get outside and experience some fun time outdoors. It might be a drive around town with them seated in the car seat behind. Even thirty minutes of playtime at the park would do them more good than playing for hours on end inside the house with nothing to show for it!

We hope that this article has been helpful and given you some insight on how to keep your toddler entertained at home without having to worry about them getting bored. Many of the tips we’ve provided should work well with kids just above the age of three.
