Activities to Keep You Entertained During the Coronavirus Lockdown

The lockdown regulations enforced during the coronavirus epidemic have resulted in having more free time for everyone of us all over the world. We have plenty of time to do all stuff that we don’t have a chance to do before like reading a good book, organizing our room, etc. Apart from Netflix and social media, we sometimes find it hard to stay interested in doing something inside the four walls of our houses.

Here are some suggestions to make your time productive at home.

Reading

Reading provides a huge range of advantages including expanding your vocabulary. All you are reading fills your mind with new pieces of knowledge, and you never know when it might be useful. You can read a novel, poem, magazines, or even articles online. You can be transported to other worlds by a well-written book, while an entertaining article can occupy you and hold you in the moment, letting stresses drain away and help you to relax.

Watching Films or Documentaries

Another recommendation is watching films or documentaries. Time would just slip away when you lose yourself to a great story, no matter how much trouble you have with your personal relationship or countless challenges you face daily. Watching also gives you a feeling of relaxation. If you’re not the type that’s a fan of movies or tv shows, then you may want to check out Anime as well. Anime’s plots are distinct from the normal pattern for Hollywood movies. As seen on No Filler Anime, if you pay attention whilst watching you will see something helpful or fascinating that will make you more interested. You will be surprised to learn unexpected things. It often offers insights about Asian culture that is not normally portrayed in mainstream media. You may also encounter alternative representation of the world we live in, a different take on our social norms and unconventional ways of delivering stories.

Play Board Games

It has been found that doing puzzles and playing games such as chess helps with cognitive stimulation. We suggest you try the Monopoly board game, it gives players the chance to communicate and learn how others think and evaluate. Other classic games like Snake and Ladders, Scrabble, Uno, and Backgammon are also recommended. It allows family members to spend time together and thereby develop closer family relationships. Board games promote the face-to-face contact necessary to communicate with one other and every moment family members connect positively with each other, it strengthens and reinforces the bond between them.

Learn How to Cook or Bake

Dining out is prohibited lately due to lockdown as a measure taken to contain the spreading virus. Therefore, it’s a perfect opportunity to develop your kitchen skills in making delicious and healthy meals. Cooking your own food is actually safer under the current condition, as you will never know if the deadly virus is transmitted by the person who prepared or delivered your food. In addition, baking can also be a fun family activity since you’ll get to enjoy and be creative on making those cookies, cake or other pastry products you’ve made.

In this current situation, we are all probably feeling anxious and worried about when it’s all going to be back to normal. But there really is nothing we can do except to stay home and follow the government’s advice. And instead of stressing out about things we can’t control, it is best to use this opportunity to learn new stuff and spend quality time with your family.

Learn A Craft

Try different craft projects like cross stich, wood burning, jewelry making, or drawing and painting. Many stores offer a boxed kit that contains everything you need to make or do a craft project without having to invest a lot of money for supplies. You can try many different types of crafts and find the one that is the most enjoyable.  You can discover all of the painting kits for adults, vintage craft kits for adults or you can pick a more specialized category: if you’re searching for a longer-lasting pastime, you might want to look at our enormous paint by numbers.
