The Board of Aldermen met Tuesday night for the third meeting of the new term, and the new Board Members were armed with invaluable information provided at the Mississippi Municipal League conference. All seven Board Members attended for the first time in many years.

Two appointments were approved as recommended by Alderman James Lott, including Keri Herrington to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and Heyward Bell to the Planning and Zoning Committee.
The Board was pleased to approve the acceptance of a one-million-dollar appropriation from the legislature for work on either or both Northside Drive and Arrow Drive. The Board gave a general approval for the funds to be used for paving on Northside Drive, a widening study of both Arrow Drive and Northside Drive, and lighting along the walking path on Arrow Drive. We are extremely grateful to Speaker Philip Gunn for the appropriation.
The Board approved a COVID policy for city employees that will mirror the policy for seasonal flu.
It was a good night for the Clinton Police Department with acceptance by the Board of a number of grants and other awards and the establishment of a policing and intelligence program between MC and the Clinton Police Department. The Board also approved acceptance of a Tourism Development Grant Award to the Olde Towne Depot,

The Board of Aldermen also affirmed the continuance of the Board’s past tradition of live-stream and in-person meetings of the Board of Aldermen Meetings twice a month and making all other meetings available to the public in person.
